Para el autor hay dos objetivos principales al momento de ingresar en las tres partes que contiene el libro: el primero es convocar a la conciencia que debemos tener los venezolanos con respecto al dominio de la ense\u00f1anza sobre la Geograf\u00eda Econ\u00f3mica de Venezuela. El segundo objetivo est\u00e1 referido en buscar los mecanismos para que los estudiantes y lectores en general adquieran esa conciencia de pertenencia y conocimiento tanto del espacio geogr\u00e1fico como del tema econ\u00f3mico. En este sentido Ram\u00f3n Tovar reflexiona sobre una amenaza latente: el olvido y la ligereza de los estudiantes y profesores al momento de confrontar estos temas, escenarios que contribuyen a los mecanismos de explotaci\u00f3n de las riquezas de la naci\u00f3n y que repercuten en el pueblo, modificando tanto sus niveles de producci\u00f3n como de ingreso. La primera edici\u00f3n de este libro es de 1968.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ram\u00f3n A. Tovar\u00a0<\/strong>(1923-2018) Formado en el Pedag\u00f3gico de Caracas y en la Universidad de Estrasburgo. Docente del Instituto Pedag\u00f3gico de Caracas y la Facultad de Econom\u00eda y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Ingres\u00f3 a la Academia Nacional de la Historia en 1991. Premio Nacional de Cultura 2012-2014 y Premio Nacional de Historia en el 2017.
