El propio Arturo Uslar Pietri\u2212 compilador junto con\u00a0Diego Nucete Sardi del conjunto de textos que forman este libro\u2212\u00a0se\u00f1ala que fue visto con desd\u00e9n por los bur\u00f3cratas del momento cuando lo nombraron ministro de Hacienda. Pocos notaron la insistencia de este hombre que desde muy joven pareci\u00f3 entender el papel fundamental que jugar\u00eda a la muerte de Juan Vicente G\u00f3mez. Sus ensayos est\u00e1n escritos con la finalidad de advertir, se\u00f1alar y prevenir los cambios necesarios que deb\u00edan realizarse, al tiempo que advierte acerca del costo que se pagar\u00eda en caso de no hacerlo. Reunidos en seis cap\u00edtulos, los ensayos de Adriani reflexionan sobre los procesos de inmigraci\u00f3n en Venezuela, la econom\u00eda cafetalera, la pol\u00edtica monetaria y la econom\u00eda en general. La edici\u00f3n que aqu\u00ed se presenta, la secta, conserva los pr\u00f3logos de las anteriores y recoge parte de las cartas y otros documentos con que el libro se ha fue nutriendo a trav\u00e9s de los a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Alberto Adriani.\u00a0<\/strong>Economista, diplom\u00e1tico, escritor y pol\u00edtico nacido en Zea, M\u00e9rida, en 1898. Se form\u00f3 en Venezuela, Estados Unidos y Europa. Fue secretario de la delegaci\u00f3n de Venezuela en la Sociedad de las Naciones. Fue ministro de Agricultura y Cr\u00eda; fund\u00f3 la revista\u00a0<em>El Agricultor Venezolano;\u00a0<\/em>cofundador del movimiento ORVE; ministro de Hacienda P\u00fablica Nacional; colaborador de la revista\u00a0<em>Cultura Venezolana<\/em>\u00a0y del\u00a0<em>Bolet\u00edn de la C\u00e1mara de Comercio de Caracas.\u00a0<\/em>Muri\u00f3 en Caracas en 1936.\u00a0<em>Labor venezolanista<\/em>,
