El financiamiento de la campa\u00f1a y su posterior elecci\u00f3n presidencial les valieron jugosos contratos que les permitieron enriquecerse de manera acelerada y en el menor tiempo posible. Esto explica el subt\u00edtulo de este libro, <em>Proceso a la degradaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica, <\/em>en el cual Pedro Duno describe, nombra y denuncia en conjunto a estos \u201cnuevos amos del valle\u201d; apellidos que hasta el d\u00eda de hoy mantienen su relevancia econ\u00f3mica y poder de influencia en el medio empresarial. Si bien \u2013en palabras del autor\u2013 en el capitalismo se evidencia la explotaci\u00f3n y degradaci\u00f3n del hombre sobre el hombre, el enriquecimiento il\u00edcito obtenido a trav\u00e9s de ganancias excesivas es producto de la decadencia y la podredumbre de un sistema corrupto y de una clase media que desvirt\u00faa su misi\u00f3n para convertirse en un fraude. La primera edici\u00f3n de este libro se public\u00f3 en 1975.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pedro Duno. <\/strong>Fil\u00f3sofo, pol\u00edtico, poeta y editor. Fue cofundador y director del Instituto Ezequiel Zamora. Colaborador de <em>Sardio, Revista Nacional de Cultura, <\/em>\u201cPapel Literario\u201d, <em>El Nacional; <\/em>cofundador de la revista <em>Humanismo Marxista <\/em>y director de <em>Punto Negro. <\/em>Su participaci\u00f3n en el Carupanazo (1962) y la activa militancia en el frente guerrillero Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar le valieron en varias ocasiones el exilio. En 1998 fue elegido senador suplente en las elecciones parlamentarias. Es autor tambi\u00e9n de <em>No callar\u00e9 tu voz <\/em>(1955); <em>El existencialismo positivo <\/em>(1955); <em>Sobre aparatos, desviaciones y dogmas <\/em>(1969) y <em>La pipa rota <\/em>(coautor\u00eda con Domingo Alberto Rangel, 1969).
