Por consiguiente, es posible reconocer no solo su predilecci\u00f3n por los relatos que consideraba mejores, sino variaciones de estilo, ambientes y elecciones tem\u00e1ticas. Desde la l\u00fadica atm\u00f3sfera del oriente venezolano en \u201cEl ni\u00f1o y el mar\u201d, pasando por la fatalidad inusitada de la venganza en \u201cOphidia\u201d hasta la opresi\u00f3n del campo petrolero en \u201cArco secreto\u201d. La narrativa de D\u00edaz Sol\u00eds construye un universo simb\u00f3lico donde se concibe una dimensi\u00f3n del ser humano y su entorno totalizadora. La atm\u00f3sfera toma gran relevancia y trastoca la misma condici\u00f3n humana, por lo que en varios relatos, de car\u00e1cter m\u00e1s intimista, se puede observar c\u00f3mo sus protagonistas van perdi\u00e9ndose en el laberinto de su propia fatalidad. En algunos cuentos, la alteridad entre hombre y naturaleza llega hasta las ant\u00edpodas, cuestionando nociones aparentemente claras para la mayor\u00eda, como animalidad e instinto. Para Jos\u00e9 Balza, el lenguaje en D\u00edaz Sol\u00eds es producto de una \u201csensibilidad verbal\u201d, cuyas frases breves y directas nos conducen a la alteraci\u00f3n l\u00f3gica de la causalidad, abriendo la puerta al absurdo de la existencia y develando paradojas que terminan siendo profundamente transgresoras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gustavo D\u00edaz Sol\u00eds<\/strong>\u00a0Escritor, traductor y profesor universitario. Naci\u00f3 en G\u00fciria, Sucre, en 1920. Se doctor\u00f3 en Ciencias Pol\u00edticas en la UCV y prosigui\u00f3 su formaci\u00f3n\u00a0en Estados Unidos. Su obra narrativa, caracterizada por la precisi\u00f3n verbal y apuntar a la perfecci\u00f3n, recibi\u00f3 varios reconocimientos, entre ellos, el\u00a0Premio Nacional de Literatura en 1995. Muri\u00f3 en Caracas en 2012. Entre sus obras, vale destacar:\u00a0<em>El ni\u00f1o y el mar<\/em>\u00a0(1967),\u00a0<em>Ophidia y otras personas<\/em>\u00a0(1968),\u00a0<em>Exploraciones cr\u00edticas.
