As\u00ed, en la secci\u00f3n \u201cMitos de los Andes\u201d recupera la mitolog\u00eda de los pueblos ind\u00edgenas de la regi\u00f3n, valorando su pasado ancestral soslayado por cierta historiograf\u00eda oficial. \u201cTradiciones y leyendas\u201d recoge el origen de lugares y personajes singulares que perviven en el imaginario colectivo meride\u00f1o. Por \u00faltimo, un grupo de escritos retoma y ampl\u00eda la \u201cpeque\u00f1a historia\u201d o ciertos pasajes anecd\u00f3ticos acerca del comercio durante la conquista, la fabricaci\u00f3n de jam\u00f3n, las primeras epidemias en Venezuela y el paso de Bol\u00edvar por el estado andino. El \u201cRapsoda de M\u00e9rida\u201d \u2014como bien lo llam\u00f3 Mariano Pic\u00f3n Salas\u2014 document\u00f3 con un estilo conversacional parte de la historia viva del pa\u00eds para la posteridad, propiciando la comprensi\u00f3n de la gran Historia nacional a partir de episodios y relatos menores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tulio Febres Cordero<\/strong>&nbsp;(M\u00e9rida, 1860- 1938). Escritor, historiador, periodista y docente. Su aporte a la cultura venezolana abarca la historia, literatura, educaci\u00f3n, antropolog\u00eda y derecho. Obras acad\u00e9micas y sobre costumbres, mitos y leyendas abarcan su producci\u00f3n intelectual. Entre sus obras se cuentan:&nbsp;<em>El derecho de M\u00e9rida a la costa sur del lago de Maracaibo<\/em>&nbsp;(1904),&nbsp;<em>Don Quijote en Am\u00e9rica, o sea La cuarta salida del ingenioso
