Esta novela inicia con un Miranda sexagenario, a partir del famoso retrato de Arturo Michelena. Desde all\u00ed comienza a reconstruirse su periplo vital al mejor estilo del barroco latinoamericano: superposici\u00f3n de contrastes, enumeraciones e hip\u00e9rboles, que van rompiendo las barreras temporales y acrecientan el torrente de la imaginaci\u00f3n. Por momentos irrumpe el anacronismo, coincidiendo en una misma escena personajes reales y ficticios, en la Filadelfia del siglo XVIII se cruzan el general estadounidense John Dickinson con Walt Disney, \u201cEl Gran Gatsby\u201d y Robert Redford. Romero privilegia, sirvi\u00e9ndose de su gran erudici\u00f3n, las correspondencias culturales por encima de los principios de la historicidad, as\u00ed como una prosa exuberante antes que una estructura convencional.&nbsp;<em>La tragedia del General\u00edsimo<\/em>&nbsp;es una obra que ensancha los l\u00edmites de la ficci\u00f3n, el lenguaje carnavalesco permite no solo la mirada a una \u00e9poca, sino a un universo cultural, de manera que a trav\u00e9s de \u00e9l revive toda la humanidad, pues \u201centre la vida y la muerte no hay m\u00e1s destino que la memoria\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Denzil Romero<\/strong>&nbsp;Escritor nacido en Aragua de Barcelona en 1938. Abogado y profesor de filosof\u00eda y literatura, Recibi\u00f3 importantes premios nacionales e internacionales como el Casa de las Am\u00e9ricas, La Sonrisa Vertical y el Jos\u00e9 Eustacio Rivera. Sus obras han&nbsp; sido publicadas en Argentina, M\u00e9xico, Colombia, Espa\u00f1a y Cuba. Se destacan entre ellas:&nbsp;<em>La esposa del doctor Thorne<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Tard\u00eda declaraci\u00f3n de amor a S\u00e9raphine Louis<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Tonatio Castil\u00e1n o un tal Dios Sol<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Para seguir el vagavagar<\/em>&nbsp;y&nbsp;<em>Recurrencia equinoccial<\/em>.
