Sus primeros a\u00f1os trascurrieron en su ciudad natal. En el a\u00f1o 1968 es publicado su primer libro: <i>Si el verano es dilatado.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Time new roman;\">Crespo es uno de los escritores y periodistas m\u00e1s respetados de Venezuela, autor de <i>Costumbres de Sequ\u00eda <\/i>(1976)<i>, Resolana <\/i>(1980),<i> Entreabiertos<\/i> (1984), <i>Sentimentales<\/i> (1990) <i>Duro<\/i> (1995),<i> La \u00edntima Desmesura<\/i> (2003) y muchos otros t\u00edtulos de una vasta obra literaria. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Time new roman;\">El tambi\u00e9n traductor, public\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 2006 <i>El pa\u00eds ausente<\/i>, un libro proveniente de sus cr\u00f3nicas period\u00edsticas, cuyos contenidos giran en torno a la cercan\u00eda de Crespo con su pa\u00eds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Time new roman;\">Tuvo a su cargo la direcci\u00f3n del Papel Literario del diario <i>El Nacional; <\/i>se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como presidente de<i> <\/i>la Casa Nacional de las Letras Andr\u00e9s Bello; fue representante de Venezuela ante la UNESCO; y recientemente ocupa el cargo de presidente de Biblioteca Ayacucho. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Time new roman;\">Como parte de la Campa\u00f1a Nacional de Promoci\u00f3n de Lectura el Centro Nacional del Libro (CENAL) incluy\u00f3 la obra po\u00e9tica de Luis Alberto Crespo en su serie <i>p<\/i><i>oes\u00eda <\/i><i>para ni\u00f1as y ni\u00f1os<\/i>, en el marco de la Campa\u00f1a Nacional de Promoci\u00f3n de Lectura. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Time new roman;\">En esta publicaci\u00f3n los poemas de Crespo fueron recopilados por la profesora y escritora Laura Antillano y acompa\u00f1ados de las ilustraciones de la dise\u00f1adora gr\u00e1fica e ilustradora Clementina Cort\u00e9s. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Time new roman;\">El CENAL rinde homenaje a Luis Alberto Crespo en este d\u00eda, y agradece su ardua labor intelectual y su \u00edmpetu al convertirse en un escritor sensible, entregado a su pa\u00eds y a su gente. <\/span>    \t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Luis Alberto Crespo, naci\u00f3 en Carora, estado Lara, el 13 de abril de 1941.
